Who are we?

W&K Gerrie is a well established family business located in Inver by Dunkeld. Last year we were delighted to celebrate our 50th anniversary.

Over the years we have built a enviable reputation with the local community, with many generations of the same family contacting us when they have suffered a loss.

In the first years of our business starting up, we served the communities of Dunkeld and Birnam. Since then our reputation has spread further through Highland Perthshire and now we are delighted to also serve the communities of Pitlochry, Ballinluig, Blair Atholl and all of the surrounding areas.

Although we are based in Highland Perthshire, we have also cared for families in Fife, Stirling, the Highlands and even over the border in England.

Our Staff

Bill Gerrie began his working life as an apprentice in Blair Atholl. He founded his own business, W&K Gerrie Funeral Directors, in 1973 and worked tirelessly through the years to build and establish a well respected business we know today. Even though Bill is retired he still regularly provides support and assistance where needed.

Colin Gerrie joined his fathers business in 1979 after leaving school. He took the reins when his father retired and since then has been driving the business to greater heights. With over 45 years of experience, Colin has a calming and professional demeanour and aims to make every funeral perfect. No matter what families request, Colin works tirelessly to ensure that every wish is carried out. He is a very highly respected and  man within our community.

In the summer of 2020 Colin's daughter Lizzy Gerrie joined the family business and is learning to carry on in her father's footsteps. Lizzy has brought the business into the 21st century by building our website, creating our Facebook page and increasing our outreach within the community. Lizzy works predominantly in the funeral home, taking care of those who have passed away and preparing all of the hands on and digital funeral arrangements.

Our Facilities

In August 2008, we opened our purpose built premises at Inver, by Dunkeld. Here we have a small Chapel of Rest where your family can visit their loved one in peace and privacy.

We pride ourselves on having state of the art equipment to ensure we look after your loved one with the upmost dignity and respect.

In 2023, we renovated our front rooms of our funeral home. With new wallpaper, carpets and colours, the whole place feels warm, comfortable, homely and a place where families can feel relaxed and at ease.

In 2024, we hope to do more work on the garden and surrounding land. Our plans include adding an area where families can sit in the peace of nature to reflect and remember their loved one. We have added bird boxes, bird feeders and have planted a bed of wildflowers to encourage nature to flourish around us.

"From first contact you have been beyond brilliant, and you more than lived up to Dad’s expectations. You gave us exactly the service he wanted and we would have wished. It was the perfect blend. I cannot think of anything you could have done better. Full marks to you for everything."
